Haute horology meets gastronomy at luxury Swiss watchmaker F.P.Journe’s new restaurant in Geneva, Switzerland.

On November 1, the famous historical Geneva bistro La Bavaria was transformed into F.P.Journe Le Restaurant – established by F.P.Journe founder François-Paul Journe and renowned Michelin star French chef Dominique Gauthier.

The Food

Chef Dominique Gauthier, one of the most respected names in Swiss gastronomy serves up modern Mediterranean cuisine with bursts of citrus and spice inspired by his travels in Thailand. Thanks to his relationships with some of the best local farms in Switzerland, there’s quality produce such as vegetables from Pierre Gallay, poultry from Nant d’Avril, beef from Pascal and Philippe Desbiolles in Meinier, and citrus fruits from Niels Rodin in his creations.

Try the scampis in kadaïf, hare ravioli with truffles, as well an excellent selection of fine wines.

The Interiors

François-Paul Journe took charge of the interior design to give the restaurant a strong horological identity. At the center of the restaurant is a 17th-century astronomical clock, on the walls are posters that represent technical drawings of watch movements, the tables are named after famous watchmakers such as Jost Bürgi and Christiaan Huygens, and the menus make reference to F.P.Journe watch models.

So if you’re traveling to Switzerland anytime soon, book a table at F.P.Journe Le Restaurant on Rue du Rhône 49, 1204 Geneva, Switzerland,  +41 22 320 4949.
