Serious Gucci fans who fancy getting tipsy on Gucci at Gucci wearing Gucci, listen up.
In mid-June, the luxury brand launched a collector’s cocktail called ‘Elisir d’Elicriso’, which is available only in Italy – for now. It’s a toast to their latest café and bar – Gucci Giardino 25 – in Florence’s historic Piazza della Signoria.
Sure, the eye-catching bottle makes the drink look more like a magic potion, but even sans chic bottle, there’s plenty to love about this elixir.
-
It’s by Giorgio Bargiana, the assistant director of mixology at The Connaught Bar in London.
-
It smells like a fragrant Tuscan garden.
-
And most importantly, the taste.
If you’re into a rich, herbal, and well-rounded flavor profile, you’ll like the mix of local botanicals, natural Mediterranean herbs, and the essential oil of “Elicriso” – an aromatic flowering plant that gives the cocktail its name. Its concoction of vermouth, plant liqueurs, London Dry Gin, white balsamic vinegar, and a touch of Tenuta San Guido wine gives the cocktail a refreshing hint of acidity.
Try the Elisir d’Elicriso at Gucci Giardino 25 “in a cooled Martini glass, on the rocks, as a Spritz-style cocktail, or as a long drink with additional soda or tonic water.” Or, buy the pre-mixed version at the café and cocktail bar, or from the Gucci Giardino 25 and Gucci Osteria websites. Each 500 ml bottle we’ve been ogling comes in a deluxe, floral-printed box. Ships to Italy only.
